According to an official DEA report "Drugs of Abuse" (2017) there have been no overdoses due to Cannabis usage. (see page 74 of report)

According to the National Institute of Drug Abuse, the overdose death rates for a large variety of accepted substances have been climbing or have consistently maintained a high risk of overdose and death.

Research has shown that in states with some form of legalized Cannabis overdose deaths related to opioids declined 24.8% the mean annual average from the national opioid OD rates. (Study period of 1999 - 2010).
- A small percentage of people can be allergic or be prone to psychosis as a result of usage. Always use caution when first using any Cannabinoid.
- Persons under the age of 16 should avoid any usage. Research has suggested that adolescent use may hinder neurological development.
- Cannabis (and it's chemical derivatives) are not chemically addictive, unlike alcohol, many pharmaceuticals and caffeine. However, a behavioral addiction can be developed, just like many other substances. As such, responsibility much be taken upon the individual to not allow their life to be negatively affected.

Ingestion of Cannabis products have a longer period of time before the effects are felt to the individual than traditional inhalation. This period can range from 30 to 90 minutes. This must be kept in mind when ingesting any edibles.
- Usage of CBD has been shown to have the potential to help individuals cope with a range of adverse health issues. Some of the benefits include reducing seizures of people suffering from epilepsy, hindering the development of Alzheimer's, prevention of cancer development, pain and anti-inflammatory properties and an ability to help treat several anxiety issues among other medicinal uses as well.
